    If the fight between Manny Pacquiao and Floyd be pushed through this year, no doubt in my mind that ‘Lil Floyd will taste the canvass for the first time in his runningman career.  Funny because everytime I think of Floyd, I always remember the movie Runningman starring Arnold Schwarzenegger.

    My analysis begins with comparing their skills against

Runningman Movie

(Arnold Schwarzenegger)

a common opponent, Ricky Hatton.  Floyd disposed him in the 9th round, and Manny did it in 2 rounds.  This shows that Manny is 4x more powerful and tactically intelligent than Floyd. Floyd is less aggressive, and does not fight toe-to-toe.  Because of his runningman technique, and tight defense, his baby face has never been badly beaten in his entire career.  On the other hand, Manny is proven, time and time again, to have the speed, power on both hands, bleeds to the 12th round, and can handle the power of a true welterweight.  Most importantly, he can knock down a true welterweight, as shown in his recent fight with Miguel Cotto.  He exhibits the trait and skill of a true warrior, on the spirit of “no retreat, no surrender”.  He is feared by a stronger welterweight Joshua Clottey, who kept covering his face and body for fear that he might not see Manny’s punches that will beat him up.

    Floyd Mayweather is not battle tested.  His opponents are handpicked.  If he will face Manny, his 40-0 illusive career will certainly be blemished with a first loss unforgettable knock out.  He can run all night, which he will, but if Manny catch up with him, he will feel the real Pinoy power.  He can smile for a bit, but when he taste his first drip of blood, it will be a totally different Floyd in the ring.

    Let us recall how Manny beat the greatest boxers in the 135-147 lbs division.  All of them had the worst beating in their boxing career, from David Diaz, Oscar dela Hoya, Ricky Hatton to Miguel Cotto.  Now, I don’t have to be a boxing expert to predict the outcome of Manny vs. Floyd fight.  Floyd can run all night, but he will have his worst beating as well.

    Let’s focus our attention on Manny for a moment.  No doubt, he is the best boxer of all time after disposing Cotto in their Nov 14, 2009 bout in MGM Grand, and scared to death a stronger guy Joshua Clottey.  One might wonder, why is Manny so powerful?  {read more...}

Steroids in Boxing: Did Baseless Allegations Ruin the Manny Pacquiao – Floyd Mayweather Superfight?
By Daniel “Tex” Cohen-January 5, 2009

    In what is news to no one, Manny Pacquiao and Floyd Mayweather JR. are in negotiations regarding a March super fight for the Pound for Pound Championship of the world.  These two have been on a crash course for a long time.  When Mayweather stepped out of the sport (“retired”) for a short period of time, he left his throne as the best in the fight game to the number two warrior in Pacquiao. Pacquiao gladly accepted the relinquished position and defended it with a flourish, moving up several weight classes and obliterating some very solid competitors along the way.

Manny Will Knock Down ‘Lil Floyd

    By Jon Velasco

    The outcome of Manny vs. Floyd fight can be predicted from the performance of Manny Pacquiao versus a true welterweight Miguel Cotto.  Help me review the fight summary.  Imagine replacing Cotto with runningman Mayweather.  The outcome will be the same.

    Floyd will still be hit by the same punches that comes from all angles. He will not see where they are coming from, which hurts the most.
